Gemma has seen rapid growth in the bachata scene, becoming a sought-after instructor at events nationally. In 2026 she won the Bachatanama Solo Battles in Sydney — adding to her 1st place at an International Pro-Level competition in 2025 and at Level Up in 2024. She is the only Bachata dancer in Perth to have won both national and international titles, making Refinery Perth's most awarded Bachata school in 2025 and again in 2026.

Her dance background runs deep: national-level Calisthenics as a child, head cheerleader in high school, and training across commercial jazz, hip hop, heels, salsa and — of course — bachata. As the first and only ConRi-Style Certified Bachata Instructor in Oceania, and part of the first global cohort of Traditional Bachata Certified Instructors under Carolina Rosa, Gemma keeps her skill set current so students get the best possible experience.

Her style is playful and musical — often commended for its versatility and authenticity.
